This rare set of vintage wool sportswear from the mid-20th century includes knickers, a short-sleeve athletic top, and a matching baseball cap — all in coordinated light grey wool with bold maroon stripes. The shirt features the printed name "Wheaton" across the chest, while the arm bears a KOFC patch, adding a layer of historical and organizational significance.

Manufactured by the iconic Spalding brand, and made in the USA, each piece carries the original Spalding trademark tag sewn in, confirming its authenticity and collectible value. The knickers are designed with a button fly and elastic leg bands, typical of vintage athletic uniforms from the era. The baseball cap includes the number 2601 and an internal leather band, a detail often found in professional-grade sports caps of the time.

There is slight wear under the arms of the shirt and light moth damage on the knickers, but overall the set remains in good vintage condition. These signs of age are consistent with natural use and storage, and do not detract from the garment’s historical appeal.

Complete sets of historic American sports uniforms, especially those made of wool and produced by Spalding, are increasingly hard to find. This ensemble is not only a testament to classic athletic design, but also a rare example of mid-century sports fashion that would appeal to collectors, museums, and vintage clothing enthusiasts alike.
